Purpose
The purpose of doing this was so every student applies for scholarships. Many students say they will but more often then not they forget and wonder what could have been. I want to make sure at least they apply and win if possible. I want students to feel as if they did everything possible. I got the idea one day when Flor Perez and I were talking and about how every single teacher and faculty member always say the one thing about scholarships is that students don't apply and we thought about making a class where you had to search for scholarships and then it branched out to learn about FAFSA and then it was about including college information and more. The reason it was so big to us was because we were talking about how we wanted something like this for our year of seniors. We believe it will be more beneficial for the lower grade levels but it is a starting in helping students apply for scholarships.
Reflection
This may be the best part about the whole senior project reflecting back on all the hard work you put in. I worked with the mentors and tried planning how things would go. It was really overwhelming at first, later it became easier when it was broken down. It was simpler than I thought Flor and I wrote about awards, credits and potential scholarships. This was the foundation and it will build from here. We are trying to implement more things to be attached to this project. I would like to thank all the mentors involved also I would like to thank Flor for helping me with this idea we had about a year ago. So much work was put into this project but to see it pay off this next up coming school year will be totally worth it.
