Effective Communication
The definition of Effective Communication is defined as verbal speech or other methods of relaying information that get a point across. My definition of Effective Communication is having learned something new and sharing the new knowledge with many other individuals. I put this into my Effective Communication because I didn't know anything about Hitler or the Holocaust until I was in the tenth grade. I had to learn this quickly because I had a short time line of when it was time to present. I learned the information very quickly and presented like I have known about Holocaust and Hitler as if it was a walk in the park.
Critical Thinking
The definition for Critical Thinking is the objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to form a judgment. My definition for Critical Thinking is being able to take many different perspectives, readings and etc. but essentially thinking about something long and hard past the first layer and digging deeper. In this project I had to dig very deep and look at various amounts of sources my grandfather died when I was two years old. I didn't know much about him. The things that made this project Critical thinking was I ask my parents for their knowledge of him. I had to read old papers written in Somali. I had to think about what he could do for me and more. I dug so deep in this project I felt that I met him and knew him well.
Integration and Application of knowledge is civic, social, and personal context
I always speak about everything with my parents because they always want to learn what I learn. In health I had gotten this assignment about Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) I wondered if they knew anything about it. They didn't know anything and they said they had never heard of it. I wanted to learn about it and share it with my parents. I ended up presenting it to the class and then my family. I shared the knowledge not only with myself but with my parents and soon after my parents were telling everyone they knew about what they had learned. I felt good about learning it but felt better about teaching it to my parents.
