Critical Thinking
The definition for Critical Thinking is the objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to form a judgment. My definition for Critical Thinking is being able to take many different perspectives, readings and etc. but essentially thinking about something long and hard past the first layer and digging deeper. The Under God in the Pledge maybe the hardest essay I have written at AMES so far. I felt it really conflicted with my beliefs and what I thought to be true. As a child reading the pledge was necessary. Once I wrote this paper I look at it very differently. The pledge is to show patriotism and American culture. Writing this paper was so difficult because there wasn't fair representation of all people that lived in the United States. I had done so much research gotten interviews and was just shocked with what I found out about the pledge. I even thought about having changes or edits to the pledge because it should represent the world we live in not the one society wants us to believe.
